GreekSoup: the one-person equity research desk

GreekSoup: the one-person equity research desk runs on your own computer, open source and free, and puts your broker account, the public record (SEC filings, the 13F holdings of the funds you follow, the options tape, short interest, macro, fifty-one commodities) and your own notes on one set of sixteen screens, with an Ask box on every screen that runs on any AI you already pay for, or on a key you paste. We built it because a company’s numbers never move on their own, a raw material moves first, or the options tape moves before the results come out, and every tool we used showed one of those at a time. It is the same desk we run on our own book every day.

The Commodities screen: fifty-one commodities with their move over the day, the week, the month and the year, and under them the listed names each move squeezes or helps.
Desk · Home: your broker account priced live, with the earnings dates ahead on your names under it.

Install it in about a minute

One line does it on a Mac or on Linux, pasted into Terminal, and when it finishes the desk is open in your browser at localhost:8765, an address only your own computer can reach:

curl -fsSL https://greeksoup.ai/install.sh | bash

On Windows the same line goes into PowerShell:

irm https://greeksoup.ai/install.ps1 | iex

The download, the install with an AI agent instead, and everything else is at greeksoup.ai.

What your keys and your data do

Without a single key, fifteen of the sixteen screens are live, because they read the public record. A broker key lights up Desk · Home, and every broker file the desk ships can read your account and cannot place an order. The Ask box runs on a key from any AI lab, or on an app you already pay for such as Claude Code or Codex, or on a model running on your own machine, and what goes out is your question with the numbers on the screen you asked from, and nothing goes until you press Enter. Your keys sit in one settings file inside the desk folder, an update never touches it and a backup never includes it, and nothing about you, your book or your lists is sent anywhere, and there is no account, no analytics and no crash report.

Where the docs are

The docs are at greeksoup.ai/docs, from the install to every screen, every broker, your AI and security, and the code is on GitHub. How the desk was built is in How to Build a One-Person Equity Research Desk (a Mini Bloomberg) with Claude Fable.

Give us feedback and we ship it

This is an experiment we are running, so give us feedback, a screen that is wrong or a broker you want, and we ship the relevant features in 24 to 48 hours or something like that. Write to info@shikshannivesh.com or leave a comment under any edition.

Nothing here is investment advice, and the companies on the screens are examples of what a screen shows and carry no view. Full disclaimer: ai.shikshannivesh.com/p/disclaimer
